Finding My Voice Through Toastmasters

One of the things I started doing this year after launching my business was attending Toastmasters meetings. It’s been a great way to network and, more importantly, to become a better communicator. There’s a saying that public speaking is feared even more than death — and I can understand why. As an immigrant, learning a new language and communicating with people has been one of my biggest challenges. For a long time, I felt that my imperfect English was a barrier between me and others. But through Toastmasters, by showing up consistently, I’ve learned so much about how to listen, connect, and express myself. I’m still not perfect — but when I look back at who I was a year ago, I see tremendous growth. And that gives me confidence that communication, just like healing, is something we can all improve with patience and practice.
